SATURDAY, AUGUST 9
Arrival Party at Night Heron Grill (4PM to 7PM)
From Beach and Top 40’s music to Reggae and Tropical, we will be jamming out to a variety of island favorites that will put you in vacation mode. Cheers to some R&R for the week! Live music from 4pm – 7pm. Grill open 11am – 8pm for lunch and dinner service.
Tiki Time at The Cabana Bar (4PM to 7PM)
Spend the afternoon overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and The Sanctuary pools while enjoying tropical beverages. Join us before dinner plans, or relax and enjoy our snack and dinner menu. Open to all guests, weather permitting. Use of pools are limited to Sanctuary Guests only.
Summer Concert Series (5PM to 8PM)
The Summer Concert Series is a family friendly evening of music held Saturday Evenings on The Grand Lawn of The Sanctuary. Each concert will host a different regional band for this complimentary event sponsored by the Town of Kiawah Island. Guests are welcome to bring beach chairs or blankets (no outside alcoholic beverages, please). Cocktail service available. Weather Dependent. SUNDAY, AUGUST 10
Family Beach Cornhole Tournament (starts at 2:30PM)
Bring your family and join the recreation staff on the beach for a cornhole tournament! Signups for teams of two will begin at 2:15pm at the Sanctuary Beach Access. Located at The Sanctuary beach access area. Admission is complimentary.
Pottery in the Park (4:30PM to 5:30PM)
Decorate a variety of pottery pieces from banks, boxes, mugs and much more at Night Heron Park. Event takes place under the pavilion. $10+ Pottery which you choose to glaze will be available for pick-up within 1 week of completion. Shipping will be available.
Sunday Sundaes with Rick Hubbard (6PM to 8PM)
Our fan favorite Rick Hubbard and his famous kazoo band will perform on the Night Heron Park Stage. Everyone can build their own ice cream sundaes for just $5 each! Please bring your blankets and beach chairs for seating. Admission is complimentary.
MONDAY, AUGUST 11
Soccer Demo & Fun Games with Temoc Suarez (5:30PM to 6:30PM)
Join us for a 20 minute “Professional Soccer Demonstration” followed by fun games under the direction of the Suarez Soccer School, featuring Olympic athlete Temoc Suarez. Temoc Suarez will be demonstrating the world-class skills that landed him on the 1996 Olympic team and 3 years of Major League Soccer. Come join the fun and play with professional soccer players immediately following the demonstration. Open to all soccer enthusiasts! No reservations required. Encouraged for ages 5 and up. Night Heron Park Soccer Field. Admission is complimentary.
Family Boat Building Challenge (7PM to 8:30PM)
Do you think you have what it takes to win our Family Boat Building Challenge? Head to the Night Heron Family Pool and test your boat building skills to see if your team can win the race. They provide the supplies – you design your boat. In the event your vessel is Titanic bound, we recommend your captain wear a bathing suit. $35/boat. Reservations are required, (843) 768-6001.
Mingo Point Oyster Roast & BBQ (6PM to 9:30PM)
Mingo Point is the perfect kickoff to your family’s vacation! Enjoy an authentic Lowcountry experience at Kiawah’s most popular family outing. A riverside oyster roast, an all-you-caneat buffet of Southern BBQ specialties, live entertainment from The Island Trio, a kids “coolzone” featuring hair braiding, a design-your-own beach bag station and a kid friendly buffet, Kiawah’s Naturalists presenting live reptiles and gators, and a local artisan craft market… this isn’t your typical backyard oyster roast, this is an event!

TUESDAY, AUGUST 12
Mingo Point Cooking Demo & Dining Experience (5PM to 8PM)
Join Resort Banquet Sous Chef, Chris Bushneck at the scenic Mingo Point for a lively Lowcountry cooking demonstration in his wood fired kitchen. Chef Bushneck will demonstrate the art of “grit making” an important step in the creation of our southern favorite, Shrimp & Grits. Participants will be taught how to catch shrimp from the river with a cast net and finish with detailed instruction on how to prepare foods in a wood fired oven. The Southern inspired dishes demonstrated will then be enjoyed by the participants with their choice of beverage and stunning views of the Kiawah River and marshes. All guests leave with a bag of Geechie Boy Grits and recipe cards so they can recreate some of what they learned in the own kitchens.

GenMove Family Game Show Challenge (6PM to 7PM)
The entire family will enjoy the high energy, fast paced GenMove Family Game Show Challenge in Night Heron Park! Contestants will participate in various multidimensional sport skill contests and games that will test teamwork, coordination, and fun factor. Interspersed throughout the game are “Jeopardy” style trivia questions that provide opportunities for extra points and test your knowledge on an array of topics such as pop culture, sports, music, and much more. Get ready for an energetic, sporty evening! Admission is complimentary.
Discovery Series: Center for Birds of Prey (7PM to 8PM)
Recognizing that the health of our wild bird populations directly reflects the health of our environment, we will discover how our decisions today will make a difference in protecting our natural world for tomorrow. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs. Today the event is scheduled to be held on the Grand Lawn at The Sanctuary Hotel. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 13
Kiawah Sundown Festival (6PM to 8:30PM)
Stop on by Kiawah Island’s Sundown Festival while the sun sets in Night Heron Park. Live band, southern lawn games, inflatables, photo booth, and train rides are available throughout the evening. Night Heron Grill will have extended hours until 8pm. Admission is complimentary.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 14
Bingo & Floats (6PM to 7PM)
Join us for this traditional family game. Please bring beach chairs and blankets for seating. Event will be held at Night Heron Park Pavilion. Admission is complimentary. Soda floats are available for purchase, $4 each.
Sunset Raw Bar at The Ryder Cup Bar (6PM to 9PM)
Watch the sun set and listen to live jazz guitarists as you enjoy a full selection of raw bar specialties on our ocean view veranda. Raw oysters on the half shell, shellfish shooters and ceviche are offered along with specialty cocktails, beer and wine. All items are priced a la carte. The Ryder Cup Bar is located at The Ocean Course Clubhouse in Vanderhorst.
The Big Game Show (7PM to 8PM)
Ever wish you were a contestant on Family Feud, Jeopardy, or Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Do you and your family try to guess the answers when you watch game shows at home? Check out The Big Game Show; specializing in hosting live game shows that will create great memories you’ll be talking about for years to come. You won’t just be part of the audience, you may be a contestant! The show is fast-paced and high-energy. It’s a blast for all ages, so bring the whole crew! Soda floats are available for purchase. Event will be held at Night Heron Park Pavilion.
Dive In Movie at Loggerhead Grill (starts at 8:30PM)
All families are welcome to float around The Sanctuary Pool while watching Super Buddies tonight! Whether you swim or lounge, you won’t be able to miss the show on the inflatable movie screen. The Loggerhead Bar will extend their hours through the end of the event. Admission is complimentary. Everyone Welcome! Super Buddies is rated G and is 81 minutes in length.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 15
Family Seaside Buffet (6PM to 8:30PM)
The Loggerhead Grill at The Sanctuary Hotel is pleased to present a true family favorite. Enjoy a wonderful array of fresh, local seafood, salads, meats and delicious desserts as the sun sets over the Atlantic. Reservations for the buffet can be made through Leisure Services (843) 768-6253 or online. Weather Permitting. $42/adults and $16/children (ages 4 – 12yrs).
Ice Cream Socials! (7PM to 10PM)
Come and build your ultimate ice cream sundae with all the toppings at Beaches & Cream, located at The Sanctuary Hotel. $10 per sundae. Purchase two sundaes and the third is half off (only one discount per group)
