Is this your first year on Kiawah Island for Fourth of July or need the times of the fireworks? We have you covered! There are extra special events happening just this week to celebrate Independence Day, not including the numerous weekly events and activities on the island during the summer months.

Highlight: When are the Fireworks on Kiawah this Year? (July 2016)
The question we hear most often is “when are the fireworks?”. To answer your question, there are two firework shows on Kiawah Island each 4th of July. The first show will start promptly at 9:15pm at Night Heron Park. The second show will be on the beach promptly at 10pm. Want to be close? They are set off near The Sanctuary beach access.
Annual Patriotic Bike Parade at Night Heron Park
It’s time to grab your bikes, skates, and roller blades to participate in this year’s Annual Bike Parade! Head over to East Beach Village on Sea Forest Drive for bike decorating that will start at 5pm. The parade will begin promptly at 5:45pm after everyone has been decked out in patriotic gear from mini-flags, pinwheels, balloons and more!
The Kiawah Island Fire Department will lead the parade, followed by Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross. The route leads participants down Sea Forest Drive, from the East Beach Village, and finishes at Night Heron Park. Upon crossing the finish line, you’ll head straight into Night Heron Park for the festival!
Bike Parade Road Closures: On July 4, Sea Forest Drive will be closed to thru traffic at the Sea Forest Drive/East Beach Village intersection from 5:30pm until 6:30pm. In addition, residents and guests in Mariners Watch and Windswept villas will experience temporary road delays between 5:45pm – 6:16pm.

Fourth of July Festival at Night Heron Park
Night Heron Park will host their annual Independence Festival in the Park from 6pm to 10pm following the Annual Bike Parade.
This is the place to be with the whole family! As always, there will be many attractions and activities with live music, children’s train and stations to include: tie dye, face painting, many different carnival games and more. Food and beverage tickets will be on sale at the park throughout the day and at the event. Menu items to include: gourmet burgers, hot dogs, ribs, pulled pork and watermelon. The night will come to a close with announcements that the firework show will start at 9:15pm.
Food will be served until 9:30pm and the bar will close at 10pm.
Fourth of July at The Sanctuary
All Day Festivities: A Day Celebrating America
The Loggerhead Bar and Grill will spend “A Day Celebrating America” with loads of activities in the sun, live music, and festive buffet! The July Fourth Buffet will feature specialty items and you can also select grilled favorites off of the poolside menu for lunch.
Dinner & Fun: Celebrate The Red, White & Blue
Kiawah’s scenic oceanfront Fourth of July celebration will be on the Terrace Lawn at The Sanctuary! The fun begins at 5:30pm and will begin wrapping up around 9:00pm with fireworks help promptly at 10:00pm on the beach.
Treat yourself, family and friends to incredible food, classic festive drinks and an All American Band. There’s plenty activities and games for the kiddos too!

Teen Night: IndepenDANCE
For the younger crowd that is not ready to end the night, they can head over to the Night Heron Pool Deck for a poolside dance party immediately following the fireworks show. This fun filled event will start at 9:30pm and end at 11:00pm.
Event Parking, Shuttles, and Bike Information
West Beach guests are encouraged to utilize the shuttle from 5:00pm until 10:30pm. The shuttle will depart from the roundabout at the Straw Market.
East Beach guest parking will be available at the East Beach Conference Center within an easy walk to the park.
We do not encourage a longer bike ride home during dark. If your family is biking to the bike parade and festival you may lock them up overnight in the park and transportation shuttles will be available to the Straw Market in West Beach or the East Beach Conference Center.
Off-island guests will be directed by festival officials for parking and transportation will be available to take you to and from the festivities at Night Heron Park.
